Exactly. Her mom feels stressed about having an "exceptionally beautiful" daughter and she's passing that stress onto her daughter. My nieces are beautiful, if I may say so myself. If you tell them they are cute they'll say "thanks, wanna watch Wonder Woman with us for the 10,000th time?" The mom has made the daughter feel that being told that she's pretty is a bad thing. And that "I'm kind and smart" too response was so fed to her by her mother.

Funny, I thought women complained most about their men having a group of stupid friends that she hates and secretly wishes she could make to go away so she could have her man to herself.
